PC Version Speculations and Wishlist

I got a reply from DVloper. He IS working on the PC Version of the game.

With that said, I personally hope that there will be more to it than just a mirroring of the mobile version as is.

I personally would like to see more cutscenes and dialogues, and definitely an intro cinematic telling us about the fate of Previous Victim and Player, and why Granny actually has chained up her own daughter behind the bookshelf.

I also got some ideas about somehow making the Granny AI capable of learning the specific Player's playstyle, forcing the Player into altering his or her strategies.

And an option to let us pick an Item Location Preset, right now we have to skip through 4 to get to the one we want to playtest.

Also I agree with the car having extra parts, as extra locks don't really have a huge effect as you can use the car to escape

Me too. The intro is pretty nice, but apart from that and the bump mapping, shading, flashlight, and motion blur, the game seems to be identical to 1.5, as Lemon Wolf said.

Yeah I agree. I assume the ‘pets’ was a typo

BTW Lemon Wolf, you in fact got a reply from DVloper as to improvements and future updates?

I emailed him asking if releasing the old colored textures from 1.3 as an optional download alongside the game (like DLC) would be a possibility. He responded saying he's not sure whether he'll do it or not, but that he'll consider it for future updates.

Speaking of colored textures, it's worth mentioning that a lot of the textures he darkened in 1.3.2 were reverted in the PC port. I don't know if he did this after I sent him an email, if it was a mistake, or what, but a decent chunk of them were changed back and it's not immediately obvious why.

Finally, speaking of texture files in general, I don't know whether or not I will be releasing the PC files or not on my Google Drive, since the game has now gone pay-to-play. I do have access to them, though, so if you own the game it shouldn't be too hard to find a way to open them up yourself.

I see, nice to hear that there will be future updates. Did you send him your wishlist as well?

Tonight I've been watching game footage on Youtube. Noone has toggled on the "Image Effects" option however. What exactly does it do? Bellify Granny's painting? :P

Image effects is what toggles bloom, motion blur, depth of field, etc. Basically just some heavy shaders that drastically affect performance for lower-end machines.

Also no, I didn't want to burden him with too many suggestions >_< I already felt like sending him a request like that so shortly before release was kind of a terrible thing to do. While I'd love to see those things in game, I trust that DVloper knows what he's doing with the game's future. :)

In the comments section of the Steam trailer on YouTube, the user FRONT_05 V2 asks DVloper if he was developing an Android update alongside the PC port.

He confirms that he started development on a new update about a week ago, so we might end up seeing something on Android soon, along with iOS, most likely.

No news on whether this update will be coming to PC or not. Considering the game is $10, I think it’s safe to assume it will be updated fairly regularly at least, if not on the same schedule as the mobile releases.
