The Birdseed is a progression type item in the game Granny. It serves as a way to get access to the item in the Crow Cage by getting rid of the defensive Crow for a limited amount of time, although enough to actually grab the item the Crow is guarding.
Appearance
The Birdseed is a rectangular but dirty box of grains with a cutout. There is a dark green label "BIRD SEED" on the package and a silhouette of a crow. The grains have a sandy, gravely texture, possibly because they're very fine.
Mechanics
Usage
The Player can use the Birdseed to distract the Crow from its cage for five seconds, so they would be able to steal the item from there. To do so, use the Birdseed on the little bowl on the opposite side of the cage, which you can do for an infinite number of times.
Spawning
The location of the Birdseed is determined by which preset you're playing on.
- Preset 1 - Old House Closet - On the barrel (granting access to the Remote Control)
- Preset 2 - Special Room - In the locker (granting access to the Rusty Padlock Key)
- Preset 3 - Shed - On the Table (granting access to the Cutting Pliers)
- Preset 4 - Kitchen - In the locker (granting access to the Orange Cogwheel)
- Preset 5 - Garage - Inside the Trunk (granting access to the Master Key)
Trivia
- You cannot pour the Birdseed into the Birdseed Bowl once you've killed the Crow.
- Unlike the meat used to distract the spider once for 10 seconds, this food item has an unlimited use for the crow. This does not make any sense as the player will just keep on feeding the crow.
- The Birdseed and the Car Key are the only items in the game that have not changed any of their locations since their release, even after more major updates released.
- The Birdseed is the only puzzle item added in Version 1.7.
- This is the only item in-game where in the texture of this item have a barcode on it.
