The Circuit Breaker is an important object in Granny. It was added in Version 1.0 and is found in the Basement. It is always required for escaping the Main Door, as it enables the bottom L.E.D on the Wire Lock if cut.
Appearance
The outside of the Circuit Breaker, as well as the Cover, is made of a light blue, but very rusted metal. The inside of the Circuit Breaker features a square of dark gray material in the middle.
On top of this square are four Power Nodes (which seem to illuminate the inside of the Circuit Breaker), each with a circle inside (the circles are different colors - the top left circle is black, the top right circle is white, and the bottom two circles are gray).
On the top side of the dark-gray square are two wires - one blue wire (this is the one that can be interacted with) and a black wire. These wires are connected to a thicker black wire that extends off of the top of the outside of the Circuit Breaker (this thicker black wire presumably connects to the Wire Lock on the Main Door).
Mechanics
At first, the Circuit Breaker is covered by a metal Cover. The Cover has to be knocked off in order to access the Circuit Breaker. To knock this Cover off, the Player simply has to push it off. When the Cover is knocked off, it creates noise when it lands on the floor, alerting Granny.
The most important aspect of the Circuit Breaker is the blue wire, a wire that is just like the one on one of the locks on the Main Door. This wire can be cut with the Cutting Pliers or the Chain Cutter. This will turn the bottom LED on the Wire Lock green.
Trivia
- The Circuit Breaker and the Backyard Switch are the only Main Door locks that aren't located directly on the Main Door.
- When the wire is cut, it makes a sparking noise, but it doesn't alert Granny. However, removing the cover does.
- Up until Version 1.8, cutting wires doesn't result in them sparking and making a sparking noise.
- The texture of the Circuit Breaker's metal frame is re-used from the game Slendrina X and some older games of DVloper such as Hotel Insanity.
- The Circuit Breaker has a weird look in Version 1.0.
