"I see you!" ― Grandpa

Grandpa Gallery

Grandpa is the secondary antagonist of Granny: Chapter Two and Granny 3. He is the husband of Granny, the father of Slendrina's Mother, and the maternal grandfather of Slendrina.

Appearance

General

Grandpa is a demented elderly man with a distinct appearance. He wears an old brown shirt with patches, paired with blue-gray pants. His reddish-brown leather shoes show signs of wear and stains. His tan skin has a bits of grime and dirt, including on his fingernails. He has chubby hands, a shorter face than Granny, a larger nose, bloodshot eyes that turn red when angry, and a grimace with one decaying tooth. Unlike Granny, he is completely bald.

Granny: Chapter Two

Grandpa carries a tan-ish green wooden cane with blood on the end of it. He also wears a brown string around his neck that has the Security Key attached onto it.

The Twins

Grandpa's appearance is ported over from Granny: Chapter Two, although his Security Key necklace is absent because there is no security room. In this game, Grandpa is smarter than Granny, even though he can't hear, his AI is smarter than other villains.

Grandpa only appears in The Twins when “With Guests” mode is enabled and has no connections with Bob and Buck at all.

Granny 3

Grandpa wields a Shotgun in this game, using it as both a long-ranged, and a melee weapon. It can also be taken away from him, in which he will then resort to using his fist. Grandpa has unlimited ammo in this game, where the ammo will never run out unless the player uses it, it's unknown why. Grandpa also looks older in Granny 3.

Lore

Grandpa's origin is not thoroughly explained, not even as close to Granny's, and he is never mentioned or acknowledged in any game prior to his debut. All of the properties he and Granny inhabit are found in complete isolation from society, which means the couple want to stay away from any type of publicity to carry out their heinous acts. His odd form of immortality, in which he will fade away and respawn if knocked out or killed, confirms his ties to the supernatural. His family relationship with Slendrina also proves that he is not, or is no longer human. Grandpa is an old war veteran, which verifies his knowledge about all the military equipment he and Granny possess, as well as his good aim with the Shotgun.

Behavior

General

Grandpa will chase you in a manner similar to Granny, however, he will shout whenever he sees you. Grandpa also has bad ears, meaning he is only capable of hearing loud sounds, such as Shotgun fire or a Vase dropping. Otherwise, he functions exactly like Granny, minus the ability to pause on his path or place a Bear Trap down. When he hits the Player, the camera noticeably spins and falls more violently, although he does not scream like Granny when he does hit.

Granny: Chapter Two

Grandpa has a few behaviors in this game. He can nap, doing so for approximately ten seconds, in which he will then wake back up, chimed by the clock. He can also go to the Radio and dance, or go to the Security Room and monitor the house through his system of cameras.

Sometimes, Grandpa goes all the way down to the Sewer Deck to check on his pet, the Water Monster.

Grandpa can hear:

The Twins

Grandpa can nap like in Granny: Chapter 2, but otherwise, he is an RNG determined patroller. His clock is absent in this game, so nothing will chime when he is about to wake up. in the last version grandpa can teleport sometimes, we don't know why but it's confirmed.

Grandpa can hear:

Granny 3

Grandpa will wander the house, looking for the Player. Like the other games, he can sleep, but otherwise, he will patrol the house. During chase sequences, if given opportune timing, Grandpa will ready his Shotgun and fire, attempting to shoot the Player.

Trivia

General

  • DVloper confirmed that Grandpa is voiced by his father.
  • Grandpa and Granny are probably Swedish, because the Developer of Slendrina series and Granny (DVloper) is Swedish.
  • Unlike his wife, Grandpa was never implied to eat his victims in canon. He is shown helping Buck prepare a fire to implicitly cook and eat the player in The Twins, but the developer later confirmed that The Twins was not canon to the Granny or Slendrina games.
  • Grandpa is the very first character in the Granny series to have the concept of a usable object attached to his person and the concept of having an obtainable weapon.
  • There is no mention of Grandpa in Granny or any of the previous games in the series.
  • If Grandpa sees the player while he's right next to Granny when her back is facing the player, Granny will start chasing the player with Grandpa. The same thing applies vice versa.
  • Grandpa being seen dancing to a modern song playing in the radio in Granny: Chapter Two and wearing “deal with it” sunglasses in Granny 3 goes to show how Grandpa keeps in touch with pop culture while being a dead man walking.
  • Grandpa's voice and design is similar to Erich Sann's from the horror game Requiem for Erich Sann.
  • Grandpa's jump scare audio is Granny's except the screaming part is nonexistent.
  • Unlike Granny, Grandpa did not have any Previous Victims.
  • He is a retired war veteran as seen from the military equipment around his house and mansion. This was later confirmed by DVloper himself.
  • Grandpa is probably based on "Golden state killer".

Granny: Chapter Two

  • If Grandpa is ticked off, his Security Key will randomly be placed around the house via presets.
  • Even if you have already taken the Security Key, and locked the Security Room with the door lock, Grandpa can still easily enter.
  • Granny: Chapter Two is the only game where Grandpa's sleeping schedule is barely predictable.
  • Granny: Chapter Two is the only game where Grandpa has a Nightmare mode appearance where he appears to look the same except in a reddish tint.
  • Granny: Chapter Two is the only game so far where Grandpa wore a Christmas Hat.
  • The song Grandpa dances to is "Granny's House" by FGTeeV

The Twins

  • If you go to the Guest Bedroom in Practice Mode with the “With Guests” Mode on, you have a slight chance of seeing Grandpa sleeping, but he will never wake up.
  • Grandpa, as well as Granny do not have any connections with Bob and Buck at all, they were included for a crossover, but not to be a part of the game’s storyline.
  • Grandpa plays his voice lines in an odd order in this game. He states them in a way where he anticipates the Player's arrival before they are encountered for the first time by the villains.
  • DVloper only added Granny and Grandpa as crossover/guests due to the fact that many people were calling the game as “Granny 3” prior to version 1.1 and he added them only as crossovers at version 1.1.
  • This is the only appearance of Grandpa where he can't get pissed off.

Granny 3

  • The statement: "Grandpa hits hard," comes to use in this game as Grandpa has the capability to knock the Player out using his fist.
  • The way he is shaded looks very different in Granny 3, this is also apparent with Granny.
    • However, his model switches to an unshaded model when he is killed.
  • The item he is holding, the Shotgun, does not appear when Grandpa is not home.
    • This is probably due to him taking it everywhere.
  • The Player can trick Grandpa to shoot his wife, Granny, even if he is given time to put the Shotgun down or aim away from her.
  • In Granny 3 Nightmare , his textures are identical to Chapter Two, expect the texture is higher in quality .
