The Freeze Trap is a new weapon in Granny, which was added in Version 1.7. It freezes Granny for a period of time depending on difficulty. The Freeze Trap glows green when activated properly (face up on the floor). It is always found in the Sewer Cell. Although, there is one warning to this trap: it can freeze the Player too, although it will not kill you, it will make you much easier to be caught.
Appearance
The Freeze Trap looks similar to a Frisbee and has a rough sketch of a snowflake on a red (green if trap is activated properly) background on the front.
Strategy
- If you are carrying the freeze trap with you and Granny is chasing you, you can drop the trap behind you to freeze her.
- Add some more I'm too lazy
Trivia
- When frozen, Granny's body can break apart and fall off if bumped.
- When Granny steps on the trap, it creates a sauna-like effect, with the ice blowing over her body.
- Currently, it's the second weapon that can affect the Player, the first one being the Gasoline Can, as the Player can be frozen if standing on it, which results in his movements being temporarely reduced. (All they can do is look around for 10 seconds.)
- Unlike the Gasoline Can, it doesn't knock the Player down.
- When dropping the Freeze Trap, the sound it makes is very similar to when dropping the Engine Part.
- The Freeze Trap doesn't activate in the Bookshelf Room.
- There is a glitch where the Player can unfreeze themself by:
- 1. Walking into the trap
- 2. Pausing the game
- 3. Unpausing
- 4. Crouching and standing up.
- Sometimes, the Freeze Trap stays green when Granny gets frozen.
- If the player freezes Granny right before the car escape, there will be two Grannys at the cutscene where the Player takes off.
