"I see you!" ― Grandpa

Grandpa is the secondary antagonist of Chapter Two and Granny 3. He is the husband of Granny, the father of Slendrina's Mom, and the maternal grandfather of Slendrina, due to his family ties with Granny, and her family as well.

Origin

Little is known about him, but like Granny, he's an undead psychopath. He is a retired war veteran, due to the weapons and advanced technology that can be found.

Appearance

Main

Grandpa is a bald old man with white glowing eyes. He has a tanish washed out skin color and very dirty fingernails. He is dressed in a brown jacket with long sleeves and a patch on the bottom right, a pair of grey pants, and light brown shoes. Grandpa's clothes appear to have an unknown liquid spilled around it on random areas.

Chapter 2

Grandpa's weapon is a yellowish brown walking stick that appears to be covered in blood on the tip and has a necklace that contains the Security Key.

The Twins

Grandpa's appearance is literally his Granny: Chapter Two counterpart but his necklace is nonexistent.

Chapter 3

Grandpa's weapon is a double barrel shotgun that can shoot the Player from a far distance. If he loses his shotgun, he resorts to using his fist. His eyes turn red when you hold the teddy. He still looks the same but his face looks like a turtle suffering from sleep deprivation.

Behavior

Main

Grandpa will shout "There you are!", "I see you!" or "Aha!" every time he spots the player. When he loses the player he laughs or he mumbles incomprehensibly. Sometimes, he sings an incomprehensible song, or yells, "Granny!" when he is investigating a noise.

If he catches the player, he will hit the player with his walking stick in Granny: Chapter Two and punch or shoot the Player with his shotgun in Granny 3, sending the player to the next day. Unlike Granny, he won't speak or mutter anything when knocking you out. Also, when he hits you, the camera "spins" around faster, probably what it means in the game description by "he hits hard".

Grandpa's hearing is significantly worse than Granny that we can memorize specific things he can hear and specific things he can't hear.

Chapter 2

Grandpa will always be sleeping for 10 seconds in the living room on the first floor at the start of each day. He will usually often go to check the bathroom first.

Sometimes he sleeps in the TV room next to the bathroom. If the clock strikes, he wakes up again. While he is sleeping, he doesn't hear anything.

Sometimes, Grandpa goes into the security room to use the monitor system. When Grandpa uses the monitor system, he will start watching through the cameras scattered around the house. This allows him to track the player much more quickly if they're within certain areas. The cameras, while being watched by Grandpa, trigger if the player walks in front of them, beginning to beep for a short time. If the player stops completely, the camera will continuously beep until the player moves, or Grandpa comes to knock them out.

Sometimes, Grandpa goes all the way down to the Sewer Deck to feed his pet, the Water Monster.

Grandpa can hear:

He patrols and he sleeps, he also investigates if he hears a noise and will pursue the player if he sees them.

Chapter 3

Grandpa will wander the house, looking for the Player. When he sees them, he will chase them, sometimes stopping to ready his Shotgun, and shoot the Player. He can't do this if you stole it from him.

Trivia

Main

  • DVloper confirmed that Grandpa is voiced by his father.
  • Grandpa and Granny are probably Swedish because the Developer of Slendrina series and Granny (DVloper) is Swedish.
  • Unlike Granny, Grandpa can't drop any bear traps.
  • Grandpa is the very 1st character in the Granny series to have the concept of a usable object attached to him and the concept of having an obtainable weapon.
  • There is no mention of Grandpa in Granny or any of the previous games in the series.
  • If Grandpa sees the player while he's right next to Granny when her back is facing the player, Granny will start chasing the player with Grandpa.
  • Grandpa being seen dancing to the a modern song playing in the radio in Granny: Chapter Two and wearing “deal with it” sunglasses in Granny 3 goes to show how Grandpa keeps in touch with pop culture while being a dead man walking.
  • Grandpa's design is similar to from the horror game Requeim For Erich Sann indiefist horror games.

Chapter 2

  • Like Granny, the player can‘t outrun him in Extreme mode, and will always catch the player, unless they have weapons or find a spot that he can't access, like the backyard bunker, shotgun cabinet, bedroom hidden tunnel, or loft.
  • Grandpa will always wear the security key around his neck, with the key being tied to a thick piece of white string. The player has to obtain the security key by either knocking him down with either the shotgun or the stun gun or just waiting for Grandpa to sleep. However, if you play on Practice or if you play with Granny only, the security key is placed randomly in the house.
  • Even if you have already taken the security key, and locked the security room with the door lock, Grandpa can still enter the security room.
  • Grandpa's extensive knowledge of security equipment, the presence of an attack helicopter, a weathered box containing 3 grenades, a stun gun, and a shotgun, all highly imply that Grandpa is a retired war veteran.
  • He cannot go up to the Attic in Granny: Chapter Two.

The Twins

  • If you go to the bedroom in practice mode, And with The “With Guests” Mode on, You have a slight chance of seeing Grandpa sleeping, but he won't wake up and search for you around the prison.
  • Grandpa does not have any connections with Bob and Buck at all... He is just included for a fun crossover and not part of the game’s canon.
  • Grandpa appears to be closer to Buck than to Bob. This can be seen in the game-over where he helps Buck prepare the fire to cook the player, as well as the game-over where he stands with Buck on the bottom floor of the prison whereas Bob stands on the top floor with Granny as she shoots and kills the player.
  • Grandpa may still say "I see you" or "There you are" if he sees you for the first time before you get knocked out or any of the other three villains see you, hear a noise from you, or realize there is an intruder. He may also randomly say "You cannot hide" and "You want to play?" before becoming aware of your presence for the first time. This is illogical as unlike in the Granny and Slendrina games, the player is not an escaping captive but an intruder breaking into the hideout of the villains, so the villains shouldn't be aware of their presence at first. This is a result of game mechanics.

Chapter 3

  • The statement "Grandpa hits hard" has been proven further as he was seen being able to send the Player to a 24 hour sleep using his fist in Granny 3.
  • The way he is shaded looks very different in Granny 3, this is also apparent with Granny.
  • Grandpa will shoot his wife (Granny) even if he is given time to put the Shotgun down or aim away from her.
