A Locked Door is a hazard in Granny. Only Granny has the ability to open the Locked Doors, whereas the Player can only open the regular Doors.
Description
Basic Locked Doors
Granny can only open basic Locked Doors. If the Player tries to open one, it will only make a rattling noise that won't alert Granny. Before opening a Basic Locked Door, Granny will rattle it 2 times, which works like a warning if the Player is inside the room with a Basic Locked Door.
Currently, there are 3 Basic Locked Doors in Granny:
- Nursery - Jail door.
- Backyard - Dining Room door.
- Bedroom 2 door (gets locked on day 3, remains unlocked after Granny opens it once.) However, as of Version 1.7.9.3, this does not happen at all.
Unlockable Doors
These doors can only be unlocked by the Player, if they have a specific item. There are 2 Unlockable Doors in Granny:
- Stair Closet door, unlocked with the Remote Control.
- Sewer - Sewer Cell door, unlocked by shooting the Target Lock.
Trivia
- Prior to Version 1.7.9.3, when Granny is in the first time unlocking a basic Locked Door, she will always struggle with it a few times before opening it. On later attempts, Granny will either struggle with the door or open it immediately. There isn't a known pattern to how this works.
- Now, she always rattles the door twice before unlocking it, making it easier while getting chased and playing Extreme Mode.
- The Locked Door in the Nursery commonly "throws" Granny back into the Jail. This oversight happens very often and can last for around 5 minutes, so it may result in the Player quitting the game. However, since her wandering speed has been increased in Version 1.7.9.3, this does not happen anymore.
- Granny can also glitch at the Dining Room - Backyard door, where she will get stuck in place, opening and closing the door until she gets alerted by a noise or sees the Player.
- Until Version 1.7, the door in Starting Bedroom used to be locked on Day 2, requiring the Player to alert Granny. Since Version 1.7, it has been permanently unlocked. The change was most likely to make it easier for the Player due to the many rooms in the house.
- Since Version 1.6, the door to the Stair Closet has been locked and has to be unlocked with a Remote Control.
- No keys can be used in order to access the Locked Doors.
- On V1.8, there's a glitch where you can unlock the Sewer Cell's Door by putting the Crossbow and the Tranquilizer Darts and aiming through the Door, and the darts will instantly go through the Door, hitting the Target Lock.
- This only works if you timed it perfectly.
- This doesn't work using the Shotgun.
- The Locked Door, Spider Mom, Fall Damage and the Iron Bars are the only hazards in the game that do not alert Granny.
- The Bedroom 2 door doesn't lock anymore on Day 3, ever since the release of Version 1.7.9.3.
