The Remote Control is an item that was added to Granny in Version 1.6. Once picked up, the Player will have the option to use it in the bottom right corner. This does nothing except generate a blip at long distance, but if used when close to the Stair Closet, it will disable the lock above the door and allow the door to be opened. The aforementioned blip does not alert Granny if generated.
Appearance
It is a gray rectangular prism with another black rectangle on it which works as a button. It is a bit smudged. The model is very basic, with minimal textures applied, and barely any shading.
Spawning
The Remote Control spawns in one of listed below locations, depending on which preset you're playing on:
- Preset #1 - Old House Kitchen - In the Crow Cage
- Inside of the Stair Closet is the Chain Cutter.
- Preset #2 - Meat Room - On the table
- The Stair Closet contains nothing.
- Preset #3 - Dirt Room - On the table
- Inside of the Stair Closet are the Wooden Stick and the Padlock Code.
- Preset #4 - Old House Kitchen - In the right cupboard
- The Stair Closet contains nothing.
- Preset #5 - Bookshelf Room - In the far-right corner of the room
- Inside of the Stair Closet are the Car Battery and the Battery.
Trivia
- It used to spawn under the Hanging Meat, on the Special Room Table, in the Hidden Closet, next to the Teddy, as well as in the Car's Glove Compartment.
- This is the only item in the game that can spawn in the Bookshelf Room.
- This is one of the least detailed items in the game, as it consists only of two differently colored rectangles.
- However, on the PC Port, the Remote Control appears to be a bit more detailed, with slanted edges.
- As of now, the Remote Control and the Spark Plug are the current smallest items in this game.
- The Remote Control is one of the items that have not changed any locations in V1.8. Same goes with the Battery, Birdseed, Car Key and the Gasoline Can.
- The Remote Control has changed its location on every preset except preset #5.
- The sound of it is also used in the Helicopter Key of Granny: Chapter Two.
