— The Player |
The Safe is a structure in the Basement that was added in Version 1.0 of the game. Before you can open it, you will need the Safe Key.
Appearance[]
The Safe is a large, thick walled, steel box, covered in grime. It has a large, thick handle on the right side of its door, with a lock directly above it, and requires the Safe Key to open.
Spawning[]
A useful item will always spawn inside the Safe, that item differentiates depending on which Preset you're playing on:
- Car Key.
- The Safe Key is in the Jail, behind the Jail Ventilator.
- Chain Cutter.
- The Safe Key is in the Secret Area Bottom Floor, inside the Screwdriver Safe.
- Rusty Padlock Key.
- The Safe Key is in the Jail, behind the Jail Ventilator.
- Cutting Pliers.
- The Safe Key is in the Chest Room, locked behind the Chest Puzzle.
- Wooden Stick.
- The Safe Key is in the Pipe Room, in the Screwdriver Safe.

Trivia[]
- Just like with the Well, the player won't always need to check it since the Version 1.8, as there are now 3 escape routes.
- Despite making a loud sound when opening the Safe, Granny doesn't get alerted of your presence at all.
- Originally, on Preset #4, the player could reach the Cutting Pliers from inside the Safe through a gap in the door without having to use the Safe Key.
- This was a glitch that was patched in Version 1.3.2.
- In previous versions, other items used to spawn inside the Safe:
- On two presets, the Master Key, later moved inside the Melon in v1.3, and on other preset to the Car Trunk in v1.4.
- The Padlock Key, after several repositionings, it stopped appearing in the Safe in v1.3.
- The Weapon Key, later moved to Second Bedroom's right drawer in v.1.5.
- The Playhouse Key, later moved to the Special Room's locker in v1.5.
- The Engine Part used to spawn here in V1.5. It was later moved to the Spider Cellar in Version 1.8.
- The Car Battery used to spawn here in Version 1.5. It was later moved to the Workbench in the Basement in Version 1.8.
- The Winch Handle used to spawn here. It was later moved to the Spider Cellar in Version 1.8.
- There some presets that you don't need to open the Safe. However there are some presets that are required for some Escaping Procedures:
- Preset 1 - It is only required for the Main Door and Car because the Car Key spawns in the Safe while inside the Trunk contains the Master Key.
- Preset 2 - It is required for all Escaping Procedures as the Chain Cutter spawns in this room as the Cutting Pliers spawns in the Chest Room. (Unless the player has found the Cutting Pliers but if you want to escape through the Escape Pipe then it is confirmed needed the Chain Cutter.
- Preset 3 - It is only required if you want to escape through the Escape Pipe because the Rusty Padlock Key spawns inside the Safe.
- Preset 4 - It is completely unnecessary to open the Safe because the Chain Cutter can be found in the Garage's Table.
- Preset 5 - It is only required if you want to escape through the Escape Pipe because the Wooden Stick spawns inside the Safe.
- If the Safe is open, you can actually crouch and hide inside of it. However, you will need to wiggle your camera and go end to end for a bit because the Safe's base is a bit elevated from the ground.
- The Safe was reused from The Child Of Slendrina, a game made by DVloper.
