The Shotgun is a weapon that was added to Granny in Version 1.4, along with the Garage itself.

Appearance

The Shotgun appears to be a long single-barreled Lupara, with a mechanism of break action and extractor, after the spent shell, ready for another shotgun shell. The Lupara and its variants can have multiple barrels or can be sawn-off rather than a full long gun.

Mechanic

It appears in every difficulty, like the Crossbow.  However, it spawns disassembled in three parts. The three parts are as follows:

  • The Barrel which is a long metal barrel with a wooden foregrip, allowing for the shotgun shell projectiles come out of the barrel.
  • The Trigger, or receiver, allows for the break-action to open up and putting the shotgun shell in.
  • The Buttstock, which provides support.

The Player has to find the three parts and place them on the Blueprint located at the Garage one by one.

Once it is assembled, it becomes a weapon. The player can load it with ammunition to use against Granny. In total, there is 12 ammunition scattered throughout the house (see below).

The shotgun is the most powerful weapon in the game. When Granny is shot with the shotgun, she will be knocked out instantly, unlike the Crossbow. As of the Version 1.5, Granny is knocked out for a longer time when using the shotgun.

Although it is a powerful weapon, it has limited ammo, being 12 across the whole house. If you run out of ammo for the shotgun, it is worthless after all the ammunition has been used.

Difficulty Time
Easy 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Normal 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Hard 1 minute.
Extreme 30 seconds.

Trivia

  • If the player looks at the Blueprint, this weapon is identified as a "Single barrel shotgun".
  • With 6 in total, the Shotgun is the item with the most uses in-game.
  • Unlike the Crossbow, when the player fires it, Granny will be attracted to the sound.
    • Granny is still attracted to the Crossbow if the dart makes a noise, however she will go to where the dart landed.
  • There is a Glitch that can occur where the Shotgun is unable to be fired or reloaded after being dropped while loaded.
  • There is another glitch where when you drop the Shotgun, it starts jumping.
  • The Shotgun can hang on the ceiling in the Sewer if dropped while standing up.
  • The shotgun's unloading animation is unrealistic, because if the shell is ejected in the direction of the player, it should result in a burn because of its temperature after priming the gunpowder inside.
  • If you swing the shotgun in your hand enough(using your camera), you can see the buttstock is clipping into the camera. This is more noticeable on PC.
  • This is considered one of the most powerful weapons in the game.
  • It is unknown how Granny disassembled the Shotgun.
  • Presets 1, 4 and 5 are the best presets for making the Shotgun because all of the parts of the Shotgun are exposed.
  • The Shotgun uses different textures on itself and in the Player's hand.
  • When you shoot Granny using the Shotgun, unlike the 30-second normal extension time, in Extreme Mode the time is only extended for 15 seconds.
  • The shotgun seems to be heavily based around a real life Romero 77, taking a lot of inspiration of the gun, from its shape to its single shell, breach-loading premise
