Granny Wiki
Not to be confused with Spider Mom.

Slendrina's Mother is the mother of Slendrina and the secondary antagonist of the Slendrina series. She is also the daughter of Granny and Grandpa, and appears as the Spider Mom, the secondary antagonist of Granny.

Appearance

Slendrina's Mother wears a white dress which is identical, but larger than Slendrina's. She also has white hair tied to the back of her head into a bun, blue-gray ghostly eyes, pale gray skin, sharp claws, an angry expression, a very long gaping mouth with barely sharp teeth, and a bunch of scars on her face. In her granny appearance, her mouth is not gaping, and her dress along with scars are blurry.

When playing on the Nightmare mode, Mother will have blood-rusty skin and her dress will have blood on itself.

Personilty

While she shows animalistic behavior in most of her appearances throughout the series, she lacks the sadism of her fellow family members, as it was shown she still has some sort of a conscience. In the House of Slendrina, she was seen crying, implying she either fell into a deep depression after her family's departure or that she felt guilty after poisoning them[1]. Before her demise, she seemed to be dissatisfied with her family, which presumably led to her choice to poison them.

Game Appearances

House Of Slendrina

Her first appearance is in House Of Slendrina. She is seen, and whenever you enter either of the bedrooms in Slendrina's house, she will scream. If you go in her closet, she will lock you in for a few seconds but she will eventually let you out and when you walk out, she will be sitting on the bed, hunched over and convulsing as though she is about to vomit. If you get closer Slendrina will jump scare you by staring at the player, covering the camera entirely, but this does not harm you.

Slendrina: Asylum

She also appears and becomes a threat, in Slendrina: Asylum. From this game onwards she becomes a constant threat. In Slendrina: The Asylum, she, besides Slendrina, is the only antagonist in the game. She mainly wanders the asylum until she finds the player or when the player moves too close to her. When she spots the player, she will chase the player in attempting to slap him.

Slendrina 2D

In Slendrina 2D, she attempts to strike the player when he manages to get to the room that contains a metal rod. The only way to get past her is to use the metal rod to defend.

The Child Of Slendrina

In The Child Of Slendrina, she is not physically seen in the game. If you go to the Slendrina's Child's crib, you can see her photo.

Slendrina: The Cellar 2

In Slendrina: The Cellar 2, she, along with Slendrina's child, wanders around the abandoned cellar until they find the player, in which they try to not let them escape by attacking them.

Slendrina: The Forest

In Slendrina: The Forest, she does the same thing as in most of the previous Slendrina instalments where she is looking for the player. She's also taller in this game.

Slendrina X

In Slendrina X, she is seen chained up inside of a cage, not moving. When the player leaves the room, she breaks free, but she does not become hostile until the escape sequence. She appears again as a giant head after the player seals Slendrina into a book. When escaping, her giant head appears again and will chase the player.

Granny

In Granny, she used to appear as just an Easter egg, similar to Slendrina's appearance in Granny. However, the Easter egg got a major change in Version 1.8, as she is now required to beat the game.

To reveal this Easter egg, the player has to interact with the Bookshelf Lever in Bedroom 2. When this lever is pulled, the Bookshelf will move, giving the player access to the Bookshelf Room. Inside this room is the Lectern and Slendrina's Mother hanging on chains on the back wall. If the Book is placed on the Lectern, she will be released from her chains. After you walk far enough away, she will start to try to crawl out of the room. Once she is next to the Chair, she will die and drop the Spider Key, giving the player access to the Spider Cellar.

She doesn't harm the player in her undead form and will just crawl, spitting out the spider key from her mouth until she dies. Although she will harm the player in her giant spider form. She also appears in a painting located in the Old House Kitchen.

Name Misconception

There is a common misconception about the name of Slendrina's Mother that states that it is Angelene or a similar name to it. DVloper, never referred to her by a specific name, which means that this is not true. In the games published by DVloper, there are no mentions of her actual name, as she is only referred to as "mother" and/or "mom" in the help sections throughout the series.

Trivia

  • Before it was confirmed that she was Granny and Grandpa's daughter, some fans used to think she was a younger version of Granny primarily because fans used to think that Slendrina was Granny's daughter instead.[2]
  • Slendrina's Mother appears the 2nd most times in DVloper's games, precisely having 8 appearances.
  • Her face texture is based on a zombie mask called "Fatman Zombie mask" sold on PopScreen.[3]
    • Although, DVloper did edit the image, by removing the yellow warts and making the mouth longer.
  • Before Version 1.7.9.3, the strange substance would appear in this room and would move back and disappear when you placed the Book on the Lectern. Granny would also teleport to the Basement.
    • This was completely changed to how it is now in Version 1.7.9.3, before the Spider Cellar was actually added, likely in preparation for the update.
      • In Version 1.7.9.3, she would simply just die after crawling and not drop the Spider Key (probably this was just a preparation for the Version 1.8 update). In Version 1.8 it was changed so she now drops the Spider Key and is impossible to beat the game without her dropping the spider key on whatever presets you are playing on.
  • The painting of Slendrina's Mother came from the ending of Slendrina: Asylum, although the one in Granny is in landscape instead of portrait.
  • Interestingly enough, in the trailer of Slendrina: The Forest after Slendrina's Mother kills the Player, she starts to sway, making an impression that she is laughing.
  • Slendrina's Mother is the daughter of Granny and Grandpa as confirmed by DVloper through an answered email.
  • Her dress is from the Temperley London 2012 Ophelia Collection, just like Slendrina's.
  • Slendrina's Mother being caged in Slendrina X and imprisoned in the Bookshelf Room in Granny may be punishment for poisoning her daughter and husband to death.
  • Slendrina's Mother has different hair in the title screen of House of Slendrina.
  • She poisoned her family because she is crazy. (Confirmed by DVloper).
  • Many fans believe that Slendrina's Mother poisoned her family because of a curse, although it has never been confirmed by DVloper whether there really was a curse in the family.
