Teddy is a hazard item with multiple uses in Granny games. It is used to achieve the secret ending and also as a method to lure Granny and/or Grandpa to your location due to its side effect.

Appearance[]

Teddy is a white teddy bear that has become dirty and grey, with small drops of blood present on the snout. The eyes and nose appear to be sewn on buttons. It has long, stiff limbs that end in nubs with no defined digits. It has small circular ears. Slendrina: The School shows that the Teddy was once in perfect condition before it fell victim to the grime at Granny's House.

Nightmare[]

The Teddy is slightly covered with blood in Nightmare mode, as is everything else in the house. Its appearance in Nightmare mode doesn't differ from regular mode any further than being lathered in old, congealed blood, possibly from the Previous Victim.

Christmas[]

This appearance change only happens on the menu, but in Version 1.7.7, Teddy wears a Santa hat when waving in the menu. Unfortunately, this hat is not applied in-game.

Description[]

While the player is holding the Teddy, a continuous, rapid-heartbeat loop will play, similar to when you kill the Crow or the Spider. Spider Mom's eyes will turn red and she will always know where you are. This applies to hiding in Cabinets, Chests, underneath the Car or a Bed. If you drop Teddy, Granny's eyes will eventually return to normal and the heartbeat loop will gradually start to fade away. Granny will also lose her ability to find you anywhere.

If the player drops it in the Crib in the Nursery, Slendrina will appear as a ghostly fog emanates from beneath her. The Slendrina theme will play briefly before she disappears. If the player is skilled enough to place the Teddy in the crib while Granny is awake, she will teleport back to the bloodstain in the Basement and forget the Player's location, giving them time to escape and/or check out Slendrina.

As of Version 1.3.2, if you beat the game after unlocking the Easter egg, you will get a special ending, where Granny sits on her front porch and holds the Teddy whilst Slendrina watches over them, but you must escape with the Main Door.

Teddy can also be used as a deterrent. If you kill the Spider or the Crow while Granny is awake, you can grab Teddy to stop the adverse effects of pet murder without the need to kill Granny.

Tricks[]

Here are the few popular strategies for doing the procedure. Keep in mind that the Nursery should be unlocked before doing these and is only recommended for the Easy and Normal modes, as Granny can be too hard to avoid on both Hard and Extreme mode.

  1. Kill Granny and then deliver Teddy safely.
  2. Make noise in Backyard to lure Granny outside for a while and head to Hidden Closet and get Teddy. Then, head to the Attic while Granny is coming inside as you will be a bit ahead of her and can safely throw the Teddy into the Crib.
  3. Take the Teddy and run to the Secret Area Tunnel. Drop something to the Screwdriver Safe area to lure Granny to go there. Then, exit through the other side and go fast up to the Attic while holding the Teddy. Then, deposit it into the crib.
  4. Go to the Hidden Closet and throw the Teddy out. Hide there and wait for Granny to leave. Then, go down and do the Secret Area Tunnel trick, grab the Teddy and run to the Attic.

Another trick (Less Difficult):[]

  1. Grab Teddy from the Secret Passage and wait for Granny.
  2. When Granny comes, run into the Secret Area Tunnel in the basement.
  3. Run into the Backyard and wait for Granny.
  4. When she comes out, run into the house and up to the Attic, where you can safely drop off Teddy.

Trivia[]

  • The model Teddy uses was originally created by CrimsonZA on TurboSquid.
  • The Teddy's heartbeat sound first appeared in the first trailer of Slendrina: The Cellar.
  • The Teddy was first seen in Slendrina: The School.
  • If the Player gets caught by Granny while holding the Teddy, the Teddy will always spawn back in the Hidden Closet the next day.
    • This makes the Teddy the only item to spawn back to its original place after the Player is knocked out.
  • As of Version 1.7.1, the Teddy will sometimes appear on the title screen (from the right wall) and wave before slipping back out of view.
  • There is a bug in which you can receive the Secret Ending without delivering the Teddy. You must have delivered the Teddy on a previous version of the game and updated or forcefully shut the game down after delivering the Teddy. A video of this being done can be seen here.
  • On the PC Port, when Teddy is dropped in the crib, a bright light will appear before Slendrina is summoned.
  • Teddy is the only item in the game that doesn't make a sound when dropped.
  • This is most likely a toy from when Slendrina was a child, as it was first seen in the school Slendrina went to when she was younger (and alive).
