What is going on?[]
Initial discussion[]
On our discord server (The DVloper Wikis Server) I (Amongis228) started a discussion with most of the active staff members (Loutar828q1, Luck-009 2, MattapoisettPatton27, SamNg311, MrJo37CoolDude) about merging all of our DVloper wikis into a single wiki about DVloper's work as a whole. After a discussion that lasted several weeks, they all agreed to it.

Now, before getting to merging the wikis, we first need to consult with you (a staff member) about it since we are going to be copying the pages directly from the wikis, and after the merging process is done, they are going to be closed. We need a decision from you based on objective opinion since it is going to be a serious project that could help us document more information about DVloper and his work, and do so better. Please refrain from basing your decision on subjective opinion (like personal dislikes), as it may ruin the project due to you not basing your answer on logic. We are giving you a week to answer to this request, if you don't answer within the given time span, we will count your answer as invalid.

Changes[]
We are going to make several changes to how the wiki is going to operate. Don't let this discourage you from agreeing to the merge, as this is subject to change, and still hasn't been discussed completely.
- We are going to replace comments and the discuss page with talk pages. Talk pages are like regular articles, but reserved for discussing and talking. This has several benefits, like being able to use templates and it being easier to find information and access discussions.
- We are going to keep only the active staff members in the staff team. Currently, the list of people to be kept as staff members is this: MattapoisettPatton27 (admin), SamNg311 (admin), Amongis228 (founder, bureaucrat), Loutar828q1 (admin), Luck-009 2 (admin). If you wish to be a part of the staff team in the future, please be active there and show your commitment by improving the wiki regularly.
Pros and cons[]
Below you can find a list made by me (Amongis228) of the cons and pros of this project. This can help you understand its benefits and downsides.
Pros[]
- We could document more of DVloper's work (like his lost apps and games and the Slendrina series) as the theme of the wiki would be about his work as a whole. Creating wikis for his minor projects like the lost apps would not work out well, as there wouldn't be enough content on them and they would be extremely inactive.
- The single DVloper wiki would be more active than any of our current wikis, as whatever DVloper game people are searching information about would be lead to the DVloper wiki.
- Maintaining a single wiki would be easier. Currently we have four wikis, and each one needs to be maintained which is difficult; we need to write a set of rules for each one, moderate them and do some other work. Not to mention that almost nobody visits any of our wikis apart from Granny Wiki, so they are left for vandals and other issues.
- We could clean up several aspects of the wikis, like names of images, formats of pages, general design, moderation, and more.
- Users will not need to navigate between different wikis to find the needed information. If the single wiki project was to happen, all they would need to do is to search for any topic from any DVloper game in the search bar and click on the needed page. This would be more convenient.
Cons[]
- The wikis' history will be lost. This includes people's edits, comments, posts, etc., and page history.
- The process of merging will take a lot of time. Though, we already have a few people who agreed to help with moving, and we are going to work according to a plan, so it's going to be easier.
