Vent Tunnel

The Vent Tunnel is a small tunnel that was added to Granny in Version 1.2. The entrance can be found in the Mannequin Room, and it serves as a one-way shortcut to the Bathroom (as the Player can drop into the Bathroom from the Vent Tunnel, but cannot enter back up).

Like all the other tunnels in the game, Granny cannot access this tunnel, but she will knock out the Player out if they are crouching too close to the entrance.

Appearance

At first, the Vent tunnel is concealed by a metal door (known as the Vent Door). This metal door can easily be pushed out of the way of the entrance. However, when it hits the floor, it creates a loud noise, alerting Granny to the location of the sound.

Inside the Vent Tunnel, there is a spider web, which might have been done by a spider or Granny’s Spider. The bottom of each wall has rust clawing its way up the wall. At the other end of the tunnel, there is a small metal trapdoor. Walking on it will make the Metal Trapdoor fall onto the floor of the Bathroom before the Player can drop through the hole. The vent cover will be knocked onto the floor when the Player touches it. When the Vent Cover hits the floor, noise is made, which alerts Granny, so the best option is to hide or knock Granny out if you are playing on Extreme due to her remarkably fast speed, but in other difficulties, you can just simply run away.

Spawning

The only item that can spawn inside this tunnel is a Piece of the Painting (which rarely spawns, and only has the chance to spawn when playing on Practice, Easy and Normal). This was the case until Version 1.8, as now the Wheel Crank can spawn here on Preset 3.

Strategies

In terms of hiding, this spot is better than the Chest, as if Granny walks around the Attic for an extended amount of time, the Player can make a safe escape and if Granny sees you go in the Chest, then it is a guaranteed knockout.
- The only downside is that it is harder to tell when Granny enters and leaves the room, as the Player has to crawl out of the Vent Tunnel to get a better view, exposing themselves to Granny.

It is possible to knock the Vent Cover onto the floor without falling into the Bathroom, although it is not recommended. This can alert Granny into the Bathroom, causing Granny to leave the Attic, making the Attic safer.

Trivia

If the Player pushes on the Vent Door in a certain way, the Vent Door will fall but the Player will be stuck in the tunnel, and they will be unable to get back into the Attic.
- However, the Vent Door can't be knocked out if the player pushes it slowly by moving their joystick nearly the center of the button.
- However this action could be really dangerous on higher difficulties as Granny has fast movement speed and if she's nearby you.
This is the only tunnel in the Attic.
The tunnel's height was decreased as of V1.7.9.3.
The Wheel Crank and the Painting Pieces are the ONLY items that can spawn in this room.
- Since the location of the Painting Pieces don't correspond with Presets, they can both spawn in this area at the same time and overlap each other.
